Vintage Lecoultre Mark VIIA Navigator Watch also known as the Weems after its designer Philip Van Horn Weems who was a naval commander and navigational expert (who was a mentor to the chap flying with Amelia Earhart so…)
Missing ladies aside, the watch is in great shape for its age, nice dial patina, beautiful blued hands, some normal bumps and scuffs on the case and very crisp edges on the bezel.
I’ve had a new crystal made to the same specs as the original and had the LeCoultre 450 movement overhauled with a new mainspring and fresh oil. The watch runs like a champ. Is it chronometer certified? Nope, but it keeps good time and looks great doing so.
Case measures 32mm in diameter and has 16mm strap lugs with removable pins for either nato or two piece straps.
